We are in the midst of a membership drive. Annual membership: individual $25, family $50, business membership $100. Personal memberships will include free events such as Spring and Fall Picnics, free books and workshops for children in Croatian school, and discount for the Xmas party. Business members will have contact info posted on the NEFC website and linked to theirs, and it will also be a prerequisite for businesses to advertise (for additional fee TBD). CLCP is supported by NEFC. The program will not only include the language and culture, but also will offer puppetry, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery workshops. For a schedule of workshops, visit the website.

In addition, this year we are introducing tamburitza classes which will be conducted following the CLCP program at the Covenant Church. The classes will be free this year as we are trying to gauge interest to determine the frequency and way to structure it for future years.

We’ve obtained textbooks for learning Croatian from “Skolska Knjiga.”

Children of families who are NEFC members will receive textbooks free.

Including SINGALONG w/Pajdashi -- a local band of American and native musicians performing Croatian folk music will lead a singalong of popular folk and starogradske songs.

We will be voting for additional Board Members and will also introduce new programs for this school year. Rain or shine. If you paid for NEFC membership, this event is free. Otherwise, the ticket for the NEFC picnic to cover the food is $10 per individual, $15 per family. Cash or checks only.

If shine – at Beaver Brook Park, Belmont; if rain – at an NEFC member’s home. Confirmation of place, depending on the weather, and directions/phone number to be emailed on Saturday, 10/11.

At the same church as last year – St. John’s Methodist Church - Fellowship Hall, 80 Mt. Auburn Street, Watertown, Mass. Public transportation to Watertown Square and plenty of parking space nearby. More details closer to the date.
