WHAT: NEFC Spring Picnic

BBQ – cevapi, burgers, hot dogs + pasta, potato, & tomato salads and green salads + sodas

Singalong of klapa, starogradske and popular songs with Pajdashi

+ Bake Sale – this year we are organizing a bake sale. Rumor has it that orehnjaca, makovnjaca, krempite and similar will be available for a small fee.

+ Fair:  Information on Croatian School of Boston, Pajdasi CDs and t-shirts, exhibit and sale of our business members’ products

WHERE: 

If shine – at Beaver Brook Park, Belmont – directions at http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/metroboston/beaver.htm -- you can get there by parking on Trapelo Rd and walking through the children’s playground/spraypark on the corner of Mill Street and Trapelo, and when you get to the big meadow you’ll see us under a tree, near the brook on your right hand side.  Or if you want to park on Waverly Oaks Rd, just walk down to the meadow.

We are asked to remind you that NO ALCOHOL is allowed, as it is a state park.

MBTA: Red Line to Harvard Station. MBTA Bus #73, Waverly Square (20 minutes).

If rain directions/phone number to be sent on Saturday, 6/5 – it will be at a board member’s home, so please RSVP.

 

HOW MUCH:  Please, cash or checks only. If you paid the NEFC annual membership for 2009/10, this event is free. Otherwise, the ticket for the NEFC picnic to cover the food is $10 per individual, $15 per family. We will collect NEFC annual membership fees at the picnic.  If you are an existing member, you can pay for this school year. If you are a new member, the membership will be applied toward 2010/2011 year.

 

    Membership:  Students $15, individuals $25, family $50, business membership $100.  Personal memberships will include some free events such as this one and discount for the Xmas party.  Business memberships will have contact info posted on the NEFC website and linked to theirs, and it will also be a prerequisite for businesses to advertise (for additional fee TBD).

 

WHAT TO BRING: chairs or blankets for the meadow as there are only a few benches in the park; or any other outdoor games (badminton, soccer, bocce, etc.) you think would be appropriate for adults or children
