Croatian Language and Culture Program – Saturdays, 3pm at Covenant Church/School, 9 Westminster Avenue, Arlington, MA 02474
Posted on 2008-12-01 by NEFC Board

CLCP is supported by NEFC. The program will not only include the language and culture, but also will offer puppetry, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery workshops. For a schedule of workshops, visit the website www.croatian-lcp.org.

This year we are introducing tamburitza classes which will be conducted following the CLCP program at the Covenant Church. The classes will be free this year as we are trying to gauge interest to determine the frequency and way to structure it for future years.

We’ve obtained textbooks for learning Croatian from “Skolska Knjiga.”

Children of families who are NEFC members will receive textbooks free.

Sundays @ Sabur 2008/2009
Posted on 2008-12-01 by NEFC Board

Informal gatherings for NEFC members to meet exclusively in Sabur’s “Meditterranean style lounge” for an afternoon on first Sundays in a month. The next dates are 12/7 and 1/4 from 2-5pm. Each month, we will feature different music artist or a group in the background to provide relaxing and “home-inspired” ambiance, such as Oliver on our first gathering.

Sabur (http://saburrestaurant.com/) will provide light desserts while members will be responsible for their drinks or any additional food. As you may know, Sabur’s food is “sophisticated in flavor, rustic in charm, and unpretentious in appearance” and we certainly hope you can join us for company and conversation. For NEFC Members, this is a FREE event. For guests, there will be a $10 fee. If you’d like to become a member you can do so at the door -- please bring cash or checks.
